Matomo visitor analytics
Our website makes use of the Matomo Analytics open source web analytics service to understand how our website is used so we can regularly optimise it. Leveraging the statistics collected, we can improve our offerings and make them more interesting for users. The use of Matomo is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1(a) EU GDPR, which you can revoke at any time here:
Matomo Analytics uses a device fingerprint (e.g. screen resolution, browser version), which is changed every 24 hours, as the basis for measurement and analytics. The data collected are solely processed by the responsible party. They are not disclosed or otherwise made accessible to Matomo or third parties.
Raw data is stored for a period of 180 days.
We use Matomo with the ‘anonymize IP’ feature, which truncates IP addresses before they are being processed to prevent them being directly linked back to an individual. The IP address transmitted by your browser to Matomo is not linked with other data we collect.
Furthermore, the analytics tracking cookie is disabled, and so no cookies are required.
In addition, visitor logging and profiling is limited to a 24-hour period. Any geolocating carried out in the context of using Matomo is exclusively on the basis of traffic and connection data that is generated anyway. There is no localisation or geofencing that goes beyond server log data.
